There is no fee to join! We are a volunteer run co-op: please volunteer at least once a month to help the co-op run smoothly, and to take part in your food systems.
There is no fee to join EA food co-op. Nor is there any mandatory repeating subscription. We are different from most CSA’s (community supported agriculture) by offering a “no-obligation” produce share, as well as a wide range of regionally-focused kitchen staples, bulk grains, beans, nuts, soaps, teas, and more. And, we are different than most local grocery stores (we aren’t a grocery store) by operating on volunteer power. Everyone can come and be a part of Edible Alchemy.
Order shares and bulk products through our webstore. Pick-ups are every Saturday afternoon at 4 locations. We’ll take orders until we’ve reached the total number or shares ordered for that week. Properly placed orders will receive a confirmation email – if not, your order did not go through! Pay online via PayPal or E-check for pickup locations, in person with a cash or check made out to Edible Alchemy.
NEW! Look out for our share subscriptions on the webstore. A great way for consistent ordering, and a bit of saving on the dough.
Winter Shares: Jan 18- March 22
Summer Shares: June 14- August 15
Fall Shares: August 30- November 15
Share contents differ each week, and are largely determined by season and the most recent weather patterns. We work closely with our local midwest farmers during the growing season to bring the freshest produce- harvestablility of crops can change quickly, so contents are determined the Thursday before pick-up. Changes often occur at the last minute! Sometimes, the produce you receive in your shares will not appear “perfect”, but is still perfectly edible. In the frozen winter months, we continue to offer shares filled with produce grown in warmer climates, though we try to supplement with local as much as regionally possible. Check out our Past Share Contents to get a better idea of what you might be receiving seasonally, by looking at the past year’s content for the month. The current week’s share contents are posted on the website and the Google group – with an approximation of what you will be receiving in your share. Join the google group to stay updated!
